Huddersfield Giants are to release five players at the end of the season, including three members of their Challenge Cup final team. Michael De Vere, Jim Gannon and Wayne McDonald were all part of the side beaten 42-12 by St Helens last month.
They will make their final appearances for the Giants against Bradford at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday.
Paul March, currently out with a knee injury, and Jon Grayshon will also leave the club.
"In an ideal world, I would have loved to have given them all new contracts, but I'm afraid that wasn't an option," said coach Jon Sharp.
Stuart Donlan, Stuart Jones, Bolu Fagborun, Paul Reilly and Albert Torrens - the other Huddersfield players out of contract - are in talks about new deals.
