Paul Johnson is one of the few survivors from the first Super League

Crusaders have signed former Great Britain international Paul Johnson on a one-year deal.

The ex-Bradford Bulls, Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves centre, 31, is coach Iestyn Harris' second signing.

Johnson will link-up with his former Bulls team-mate Stuart Reardon, who joined the club on Tuesday.

"His record speaks for itself and his commitment and try-scoring ability means he adds real strength to our squad," said Harris.

"I've played alongside Paul and he always gives 100%.

"He is fit and raring to go and has bought into what we are trying to achieve here in Wrexham. His ability to play in either the backs or forwards is a real bonus for us."

Johnson, who was released by his last club Wakefield, won the first of his 12 Great Britain caps in 2001 and went on to play in both the 2004 and 2005 Tri-Nations Series.

He won Super League Grand Finals with Wigan and Bradford and was part of the Warrington side that lifted the 2009 Challenge Cup at Wembley.

"I'm thrilled to join the Crusaders and work with Iestyn Harris again," he said.

"I have been impressed with the club's ambition and what they are trying to achieve here in Wrexham."
