Celtic Crusaders operations manager Gerald McCarthy has resigned from the Bridgend-based club. The club have confirmed McCarthy's departure but have yet to release a statement on the matter. It follows the exit of chief executive officer David Thompson who announced he was leaving earlier this month. The Crusaders have just begun life in Super League after winning a three-year franchise, but lost at Leeds Rhinos in last week's opening match. The Welsh club play their second game in the top flight away at Salford City Reds on Saturday night.
