Catalan Dragons star Jason Croker has signed a new 12-month deal to extend his career past his 36th birthday. The Aussie, currently Super League's oldest player, is in the second year of a two-year contract with the Dragons. Coach Mick Potter said: "It will be his 18th season as a professional, which is just amazing. Full credit to Jason." Second-rower Croker said: "I am very happy to stay with the Dragons next year. I will be 36 then, so it will be probably my last as a player."
Croker was a key player in the Dragons' run to the Challenge Cup final last August and has made 15 appearances so far this year for the third-placed Super League club. Catalans general manager Christophe Levy added: "Jason has been a fantastic player for the club and he continues to be. He fully deserves another year's contract. "We are planning to bring in two more very young French second rowers next
year, and I am sure they will learn a lot from him."
