Catalans Dragons have agreed to release Australian second row Ian Hindmarsh at the end of the season - two years before the end of his contract. Hindmarsh, originally contracted until the end of 2008, expressed his wish to return home to take care of some personal matters.
Dragons coach Mick Potter described Hindmarsh as "a tough, courageous and consistent player.
"He has made a very positive impact and naturally we are sad to see him leave."
Hindmarsh, the brother of Australian Test second-rower Nathan, has played an integral part in the Catalans' debut campaign in Super League.
General manager Christophe Levy added: "When a player comes to the club requesting a release, particularly for matters other than those related to playing rugby league, we would not stand in his way.
"Ian leaves the club on very good terms and we wish him all the best for his future."
