Castleford Tigers ready to unveil new stadium plans

Castleford Tigers

Castleford Tigers will unveil plans for their proposed new 13,300 stadium ahead of kick-off in their crucial match against Leeds on Friday night.

The architects plans will be on show to fans in the marquee at The Jungle and also at the Tigers' visitor centre from 16-27 August.

Tigers chief executive Richard Wright said: "The new stadium will give the fans the facilities they deserve.

"Subject to planning consent, we are on track to start the build in spring."

The designs for the new venue, in advance of a detailed planning submission in October, showcase a 13,300 capacity stadium at Glasshoughton on Junction 32 of the M62.

The base for the pitch is expected to be in place by May 2011, in order for it to be ready for the start of the 2012 Super League season.
