Castleford Tigers hooker Daryl Clark has signed a new contract extension that will keep him at The Jungle the end of the 2013 season.

The 17-year-old has been rewarded after impressive performances in the under-18s and Under-20s this year.

"I'm really pleased to have agreed a new deal, I'm enjoying life at the club," said Clark.

"I'm learning a lot from Ryan Hudson in training and obviously my ambition is to play in the Super League."

Clark added: "Seeing how the club have given young players a chance this season, I can see that there are opportunities if you are prepared to work hard and that is what I'm aiming to do."

Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: "This is good news for the club, Daryl is a very exciting prospect.

"He has been training with the club full time and shaping up well and I believe that he has the potential to make his mark in the top flight."
