Castleford Tigers have completed the signing of back row forward Dean Widders from Australian outfit South Sydney Rabbitohs. The 28-year-old, who has signed a three-year-deal with the Tigers, will join at the start of next season. Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: "Dean is a great capture for the club. "He has played regularly at the top level for eight seasons and I'm sure that his style of play will be a big plus for us." He added: "He is a good character and a really creative strong running back-rower with plenty of pace, a good step and he is a proven line breaker. | 606: DEBATE | "And although we are bringing him in as a back-rower, Dean has also played at centre or stand-off so he offers us some additional versatility in other positions." Widders has made more than 150 appearances in the NRL since making his debut for the Sydney Roosters in 2000. He spent two years with the Roosters before moving to Parramatta where he had five seasons, joining the Rabbitohs in 2007.
