Sprinter Dwain Chambers is expected to find out if he has a future with Castleford in rugby league on Tuesday. Castleford are trying to put together a sponsorship package to retain Chambers following a month-long trial. Chambers, frozen out by UK athletics following a two-year ban for drugs, played his first rugby league game in a friendly against York last month. He struggled to cope with the stamina required, before coming off with a shoulder injury. Chambers has insisted he is serious about a future in rugby league. And the Press Association says other clubs are interested in offering Chambers a deal if Castleford cannot. | 606: DEBATE |
However, on Saturday Chambers said he was still aiming to get his Olympic ban overturned so he could compete at the London Games in 2012, when he will be 34. Chambers won a silver medal in the 60m at last month's World Indoor Championships, but is banned from running in this year's Olympics because of a British Olympic Association by-law.
