Castleford centre Michael Shenton has signed a new contract which will keep him at The Jungle until the end of the 2008 season. The 20-year old joined the club in 2003 and established himself during last season's promotion campaign.
"Michael is a first-choice centre in Super League this season and his new deal reflects his improvement," said Cas chief executive Richard Wright.
"He has a tremendous attitude and has the potential to go all the way."
Shenton added: "I'm very happy to have agreed a new deal with the club and commit myself for an additional year.
"I have enjoyed my time at the Tigers and it has been great to play on a regular basis in Super League this year.
"The club have some ambitious plans for the future and wanting to be part of those plans was a big factor in my signing this new contract."
