Franze played for Penrith Panthers before London Irish |
Castleford have signed Australian centre Paul Franze from Premiership rugby union side London Irish. The 24-year-old Franze, who has made seven appearances for the Exiles in the English top flight, has joined the Tigers until the end of the season.
He goes straight into the Castleford squad for Friday's engage Super League derby with Wakefield.
The Wildcats have 20-year-old centre Ryan Atkins, on a month's loan from Bradford, making his debut.
London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith wished Franze well on his return to league.
He said: "Paul has made a number of cameo appearances in the first team over the season, none more important than his stunning individual try in the away game against Agen in the European Challenge Cup.
"He has decided that he wants to return to rugby league and we have agreed to release him with our thanks and best wishes for himself and his family."
