The back-row forward, who celebrated his 19th birthday this week, captained the club's under-18 side to a junior academy Grand Final win in 2004.

Castleford coach Terry Matterson said the Barnsley-born youngster, who played his junior football at amateur club Redhill, was a good acquisition.

"Grant has been very consistent for our academy side this season and deserves his call-up to the squad," he said.
