Two clubs are vying for McGoldrick's registration |
Super League newcomers Castleford have admitted their chances of signing Ryan McGoldrick are in the balance. The 25-year-old centre signed for both Castleford and Wests Tigers when he was released by Cronulla last season.
"He's got a contract with two clubs. We aren't in the wrong, and Wests haven't done anything wrong either," said Tigers coach Terry Matterson.
"We didn't know he was already under contract with them. There's been a mix-up with his management company."
Matterson said he was uncertain when the situation would be resolved.
"We need to know, but we can't really put a deadline on it," said Matterson.
"It's not as if there are quality players jumping out of the ground out there that are not tied to clubs. Ryan coming here will at this stage be a bonus."
