Bradford sign performance manager

Bradford

The Bradford Bulls have appointed Stuart Barrow as their new player performance manager.

The 33-year-old has spent the last three years with Castleford Tigers in a similar role.

The Bulls' previous performance manager Paul Medley has stepped up to become the head of youth development.

A delighted Barrow said: "This is a massive opportunity for me at a really big club and I can't wait for the challenge ahead."

Barrow led the Castleford Academy into the play-offs for the first time last season and was formerly at Luton University as sports development officer.

Bulls head coach Steve McNamara added: "It's a vital role and such a huge area that it's certainly too big for one man to cover.

"Paul Medley has done an outstanding job along with the other academy and scholarship staff but it needs two people if you are going to do it properly.

"It's great that we've attracted someone of Stuart Barrow's calibre, someone who is very highly respected by everyone at the rugby league in terms of his person, ability and quality of work."
