Bradford have signed five new players for 2008 after crashing out of the play-offs at the hands of Wigan.

Huddersfield's Australian utility player Chris Nero, 26, heads the list on a three-year contract.

Nero will be joined by Wakefield duo Ben Jeffries and Semi Tadulala, Hull's former Wigan hooker Wayne Godwin and Salford back rower Simon Finnigan.

Bulls had earlier announced the signing of Harlequins centre Paul Sykes on a two-year contract.

Jeffries, 27, who was released from the last 12 months of his contract with the Wildcats because he wanted a fresh challenge, has signed a two-year deal, while Fijian winger Tadulala, 29, has been handed a one-year contract.

Godwin, 25, and Finnigan, also 25, who became a free agent when Salford were relegated, have both signed 12-month deals.

Bradford coach Steve McNamara said: "They're all high-quality individuals both on and off the field and, together with Paul Sykes, will greatly enhance and improve our current squad.

"I'm looking forward to working with them all and I'm confident they will all have successful careers with the club."

The new faces replace hooker Ian Henderson and centre Ben Harris, who are both returning to play in Australia, and Nathan McAvoy, Marcus St Hilaire and Chris McKenna, who have all been released.

The five departing players all made their final appearances for the Bulls in the 31-30 play-off defeat by Wigan.
