Harris is the fulcrum of Bradford's attacking strategy |
Bradford Bulls stand-off Iestyn Harris did not sustain a broken arm during Friday's defeat at St Helens. An X-ray has revealed nothing more serious than bruising and Harris has an outside chance of playing against Wigan Warriors next Friday.
The Great Britain international has not missed a match for the Bulls since returning from union in July 2004.
"It's a big relief," said team manager Stuart Duffy. "He's a quality player who gets us around the park."
Harris, who has made 54 successive appearances for the Bulls, went off 31 minutes into the 38-16 defeat at Knowsley Road.
Meanwhile, Harris' half-back partner Paul Deacon could be fit to face the Warriors despite also picking up an injury against Saints.
Deacon suffered a facial problem, though Bulls coach Brian Noble confirmed it was not related to the horrific injury the scrum-half sustained during the Tri-Nations.
The Great Britain player had major surgery after a challenge by New Zealand's Nigel Vagana left his jaw and cheekbone smashed.
St Helens full-back Paul Wellens also picked up a facial injury in the match and could be out for up to six weeks.
Wellens will have X-rays on Monday.
Bradford's defeat at Saints ended their 18-match unbeaten run which went back to last July and dropped them to third place in the table.
