Super League champions Bradford have signed Papua New Guinea utility player Stanley Gene on a two-year contract. The 31-year-old was released by Huddersfield last week after rejecting his request for a contract extension.
Bulls assistant coach Steve McNamara played with Gene at Huddersfield and is happy to be teaming up with him again.
"I know from my time at Huddersfield and from watching him since I left that Stan's been their best player, week in, week out, in recent seasons," he said.
"He had a fantastic game for Huddersfield against the Bulls towards the end of the season just gone.
"I keep hearing people question Stan's age, but it is absolute nonsense - I guarantee that Stan is one of the fittest players in Super League."
