Hape has struck up an excellent partnership with Lesley Vainikolo |
New Zealand centre Shontayne Hape has signed a new contract with the Bradford Bulls that will keep him at Odsal until the end of the 2008 season. Hape, who joined the club from the New Zealand Warriors at the start of 2003, has scored 49 tries in 70 appearances for the club.
His current deal had a year to run but the Bulls moved early to extend it.
"His best football is ahead of him and I'm delighted it will be played with the Bulls," coach Brian Noble said.
Hape, 23, missed a large part of the season after picking up an injury in the Gillette Tri Nations last year but he has been in sensational form since his return.
He said: "This is a fantastic deal for me, at the club I want to be with.
"They have been very good to me during my injury period and have helped me immensely."
The news is a major boost for Bradford ahead of Saturday's engage Super League elimination semi final against Hull.
