The Rugby Football League has revealed that Bradford Bulls forward Ryan Hudson faces a doping investigation. Although the Bulls have not commented on the doping allegation, they have confirmed that they have suspended the 25-year-old for disciplinary reasons.
An RFL spokesman confirmed: "He (Hudson) is the subject of a doping control investigation."
Hudson joined the club in October after leaving relegated Castleford at the end of last season.
The RFL has not elaborated on the matter and Bradford have not commented as to the nature or duration of Hudson's suspension.
Bulls chairman Chris Caisley said: "Our enquiries into the matter in question are still ongoing and therefore there will be no further announcement by the club at this stage."
The matter comes just weeks after Caisley criticised the RFL for its handling of the recent drugs cases involving Leeds pair Keith Senior and Ryan Bailey.
Senior and Bailey were each fined 1,500 in December after testing positive for the banned stimulant ephedrine.
Hudson had been earmarked for a role at hooker this season and may have played in that position in next Sunday's friendly against Huddersfield.
Bradford start their Super League campaign with a home clash against Wakefield on 13 February.
