Kopczak came off the Bulls' bench to grab his hat-trick of tries
Craig Kopczak grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Bradford Bulls beat Super League strugglers Wakefield.
Frankie Mariano's try put the visitors ahead early on but Tom Olbison, Shad Royston and Craig Kopczak (2) went over to give Bradford a 24-6 half-time lead.
Luke George grabbed a second-half try for the Wildcats in between scores from Bulls' Shaun Ainscough and Royston.
Kopczak completed his hat-trick before Kieran Hyde scored a consolation try for sorry Wakefield.
The visitors' first try came after a Bradford goal-line drop-out and continued pressure that saw Tommy Lee find Mariano who muscled through two defenders to score.
Soon after Oblison burst through a stretched Wildcats defence after good build-up work by Michael Platt and Ainscough.
Marc Herbert came close to touching down a grubber kick on his Bulls debut before Royston benefited from great handling by Gareth Raynor and Patrick Ah Van to glide in unchallenged.
After Glenn Morrison dropped the ball over the line for the visitors Bradford responded with two quick tries.
First Danny Addy fed a short pass that allowed fellow substitute Kopczak to pile through some weak defence before the pair combined again two minutes on to provide Bradford's fourth of the afternoon.
Ah Van converted all the tries to leave the score at 24-6 at the break.
Wakefield emerged with renewed vigour and were it not for stout Bradford defending, and some wasted chances, they could have pulled themselves right back into the game.
Luke George's handling error was seized upon by Platt who found Royston for his second, Ah Van again added the extras.
Josh Griffin gathered Herbert's kick before sprinting the length of the field and laying the ball off to George for a deserved Wildcats score in the 65th minute.
But Ainscough dimmed any prospect of a come back when he went in after Herbert's grubber kick.
Ah Van was for once off target but it was immaterial when Kopczak scored his third seven minutes before then end.
Wakefield then grabbed a consolation try in the dying seconds, which Veivers converted.
Bradford Bulls assistant coach Francis Cummins told BBC Radio Leeds: "We got the two points, which we were after, and although it wasn't a 100% display we've taken another step forward which was our goal.
"He (Craig Kopczak) has done really well, he's put himself in the picture and has been supporting really well around the middle for the start of the season, and he's reaped the rewards today.
"With the young lads coming in who I thought were terrific, they need the experienced players to settle them down and do the little things that enable the young players to relax."
Wakefield coach John Kear told BBC Radio Leeds: "You've got to applaud the effort of the players, but on the back of that we also need to identify areas of our game that we need to improve upon.
"I thought the experienced players really stood up well and some of the young lads did a good job.
"We've got to accept that we've got to improve week on week, we played well against Catalan, had a big dip against Salford, but today was an improvement in performance on what we dished up against Salford.
"We've got a short turnaround - five days - before we've got Warrington, and we'll be looking to improve in certain areas for that."
