Manu played for Tonga in the 2008 World Cup but qualifies for England |
Hull's Willie Manu has been left out of the England fall-out squad for the Four Nations tournament but team-mates Tom Briscoe and Kirk Yeaman are included. Manu was controversially given a place in England coach Steve McNamara's 37-man squad for a get-together in July. The Australian-born second rower has represented Tonga but qualifies for England because he has lived in Britain since 2006. The Four Nations is held in Australia and New Zealand and starts in October. A fall-out squad is made up of players whose teams are no longer involved in the Super League play-offs. Wing Briscoe and centre Yeaman join players from Bradford, Harlequins, Castleford and Salford in McNamara's squad of 13 so far. | 606: DEBATE |
The England coach is waiting to hear the severity of Leeds stand-off Danny McGuire's knee injury, suffered in the 27-26 win over Wigan on Sunday. He is also concerned about St Helens scrum-half Kyle Eastmond, who has damaged his hip. Warrington centre Chris Bridge has ruled himself out because he wishes to be present at the birth of his first child. The Four Nations involves Papua New Guinea as well as England and the two host nations.
