Huddersfield demolished Wakefield for the second time this season with a powerful display at the Galpharm.

The Giants beat Wakefield 52-0 in March and were rampant again as they ran in 10 tries from nine different scorers.

David Hodgson got things going before Lee Gilmour, Darrell Griffin, Shaun Lunt, Jermaine McGillvary and Leroy Cudjoe (2), all crossed.

Scott Grix, Danny Brough and Graeme Horne added more with Sean Gleeson grabbing a solitary Wildcats try.

Stand-off Kevin Brown paved the way for Hodgson's opener when he handed-off after a break from deep.

Brown's clever kick then sent Gilmour racing over as the Giants dominated.

Brough put Griffin through for his try before Lunt scored a fine solo effort after a slick Huddersfield move.

Two tries in as many minutes then followed, as Brown and Grix set up McGillvary to over.

McGillvary then turned provider, exchanging passes with Cudjoe for the first of his two tries.

Gleeson finally responded for Wakefield shortly after half-time but Cudjoe scored again before Grix, Brough and Horne completed Trinity's humiliation.

Brough was also in fine form with the boot - scoring nine out of 10 conversions.

Huddersfield assistant coach Paul Anderson:
"Our pivotal players like Kevin Brown and Scott Grix had a good input in the game. But it was the team performance we were looking for and I though everybody contributed well.

"Our aim is to win our four remaining games and finish as high up the table as we can. We've got a two-week break before our next game. Hopefully we can get some of our injured players back before then to put some pressure on those who are in the team at the moment.

"I also really feel for Wakefield. We know they're in a real hole with injuries right now. We have a lot of respect for them and would like to wish them all the best for the rest of the season."

Wakefield coach John Kear:
"We had take Matt Blaymire off after 50 minutes and we had a young guy who's been pulling up trees in the academy side in at stand-off trying to do his best in a very crucial role.

"I will stand by them because we thought we took a step up from last week. I saw from the effort in the second half that there were no lost causes."

"They [Huddersfield] are building for something. I was really impressed with them.

"There was freshness about Huddersfield's play. I said before that they're the ones to watch and I still believe they could be the dark horses in the play-offs."
