Thomas Bosc kicked over four points at Stade Gilbert Brutus |
Catalans Dragons withstood a late Hull KR fightback to seal only their second Super League win of the season. Full-back Chris Walker gave the hosts a 6-0 half-time lead when he shook off Ben Galea's late challenge, allowing Thomas Bosc to add the extras. Dane Carlaw extended the lead before Cyrille Gossard's try made it 16-0. Jake Webster set up an enthralling finish with a 73rd-minute try, followed three minutes later by Kris Welham's score, but the Dragons held on to win.
Catalans coach Kevin Walters: "I don't know if our season is back on track, but the two points pushes us onto four in the table. "Our defence was pretty good holding them to nil until the 73rd minute, so that was very satisfying. "I don't like watching the way we folded at the end, but it's important you are in front after 80 minutes." Hull KR coach Justin Morgan: "Liam Colbon was knocked out and has a suspected broken jaw. He was in a pretty bad way when the medical team took him away. "He's been taken to hospital and is in the capable hands of the medical team. I only saw the incident live but I know it was put on report, so the RFL will have a look at that. "Hopefully, he will be okay. But it was a case of too little, too late here in France."
