Hull FC ran in five second-half tries to ease to victory over Castleford.

The Tigers twice came from behind to go in 12-12 at the break as Ryan Hudson and Shaun Ainscough cancelled out tries from Kirk Yeaman and Willie Manu.

But Hull moved clear after the restart as Richard Horne twice went over either side of a Peter Cusack score, before Craig Hall touched down.

Rangi Chase and James Evans grabbed consolations for Cas before Craig Fitzgibbon put the result beyond doubt.

Castleford have now lost all four of their matches since their opening night win at Leeds.

They were very much in the game at the interval after showing great spirit to come back from falling behind to Yeaman's opening try, which capped a five-man cross-field move.

Hudson replied for Cas from close range with their first real attack, and Ainscough touched down from a yard after good work from Evans to level again after Manu had gathered Horne's kick through to score.

But they were undone by a devastating 11-minute burst from Hull which effectively sealed victory.

The catalyst was a defence-splitting run by Tom Briscoe, and the Black and Whites capitalised when Mark O'Meley put Horne in for his first try.

Fitzgibbon then put in Cusack from close range, Horne burst clear for a fine solo score, before Hall pounced on a handling error by Michael Wainwright from Horne's towering kick.

Chase got on the end of his own kick and Evans crashed over to give Castleford hope, but Fitzgibbon got on the end of another Horne kick in the final minute to seal the home side's victory.

Hull coach Richard Agar:
"At half-time, we felt we needed to lift our intensity a little bit, especially defensively.

"We were not quite where we needed to be defensively and we needed to get more of a mojo, and we did that.

"At half-time we thought that Castleford were lacking a little bit in the middle and we took advantage and made inroads at the middle of the park. I thought they had a right dig at us and they might be a little bit disappointed that the scoreboard blew up the way it did."

Castleford coach Terry Matterson:
"It was a tough night at the office. We lost Joe Westerman on the morning of the game with an infected knee and it didn't start well.

"We hung in there in the first half but lost Paul Jackson after five minutes and have plenty of others with blood all over them. We got battered into submission in the second half.

"But I'm proud of my guys. They were too strong for us and we are just running out of bodies. It's not a good-looking room in there at the moment. But I'm proud of them."
