Huddersfield ran in six tries to inflict a heavy home defeat on Hull KR, who failed to score for the first time since their first Super League season.

Nathan Brown's side were 18-0 up by half-time, with tries from Shaun Lunt, David Hodgson and Larne Patrick, and Brett Hodgson converting all three.

Hodgson completed his hat-trick with further scores in the 53rd and 74th minutes to make it 26-0.

Leroy Cudjoe touched down three minutes from time to complete the Giants' rout.

Their second victory from three matches lifts Huddersfield into fifth place in Super League, with Hull KR two points off the bottom in 11th.

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan said:

"I think that was a disappointing display all round. We did not start well and did not get any better. In fact we got progressively worse as the game went on.

"We did not show any patience with the amount of possession we had at times and we pushed the pass and that cost us.

"I will have to delve very deeply to find any positives to take from today. We were way off with our attack and our defence was very scratchy."

Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown said:

"It was obviously good to nil them but I did not think it was an outstanding performance.

"In particular in the second half I thought our defence was pretty reasonable but we sort of faffed about in attack.

"To keep them to nil was very pleasing but I just think in attack our determination to come up with the right play was a little half-hearted. Or maybe the desire was not quite right."
