Harris was a regular at the Millennium Stadium in union |
Bradford Bulls stand-off Iestyn Harris is eager to run out at Wales' national stadium once again thanks to Super League's 'Millennium Magic' weekend. The 30-year-old was a regular performer at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium during his three-year sojourn in union.
But Harris cannot wait to return when six Super League games are staged over the first weekend in May.
"I'm looking forward to the games, I think it's going to be a spectacle for the game of rugby league," Harris said.
"To play again at the Millennium Stadium is something I didn't expect to have the opportunity to do.
"I've played a lot there in rugby union for Wales and to play in front of full houses in Cardiff is pretty special.
"There's not many places in the world with an atmosphere like it so I'm looking forward to it."
Harlequins and Catalans Dragons kick off the action at 1500 BST on Saturday, 5 May, with Hull FC v Hull KR and St Helens v Wigan following at two-hour intervals.
Huddersfield and Wakefield start the action on Sunday (1400), followed by Salford against Warrington and finally Harris gets to run out again on the Millennium turf when his Bradford side face former club Leeds in the finale.
But Harris hopes that locals will join the throng of Super League regulars following their teams.
"It's great for people in Wales, if they get the opportunity, to watch some of the local derbies down here," Harris added.
"They're not games that don't mean anything: Leeds-Bradford; Hull-Hull FC; St Helens-Wigan.
"They're games that the fans at the respective clubs look for at the start of the year on the fixture lists and there'll be plenty of pride and passion plus points in Super League on offer."
