Hull KR (6) 12
Tries: Netherton, Ford
Goals: Morton 2

Warrington beat Hull KR to move to fifth in the Super League table and level on points with their opponents.

Adrian Morley went off injured early on for Warrington but they still surged ahead with tries from Henry Fa'fili, Paul Johnson and Ben Westwood.

A Jason Netherton score was Hull KR's only response but Jon Clarke extended Warrington's lead in the second half.

Johnson and Clarke struck again as the home side pulled away while Byron Ford score a late consolation for Hull KR.

Morley was making his home debut for the Wolves but lasted just 17 minutes.

He was returning ahead of schedule from a fractured eye socket sustained in the opening game of the season.

He appeared to clash heads with Johnson as the pair tried to tackle Rovers full-back Ben Cockayne, and Morley played no further part in the game.

Hull KR suffered their own setback when captain James Webster was stretchered off just before half-time with an ankle injury.

The visitors had lost their creative force and were swept aside quickly after the break as the Wolves ran out comfortable winners.

  • Warrington coach Paul Cullen:
"Adrian took a bang right on the same point. There is nothing conclusive yet and we will take time to re-assess it.

"Our performance and efforts were borne out of respect for Hull KR.

"We knew we had to be very good defending at the ruck and everyone had a dig."

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan insisted his side could not blame captain James Webster's injury for the loss:
    "It's certainly no excuse.

"We didn't have the right attitude. Credit must go to Warrington who had key players in key positions missing.

"They challenged us. We tried to solve our problems on an individual basis. We didn't work together."
