Solomona (right) still has two years left on his contract with Wakefield |
Wakefield chief executive Steve Ferres has lashed out at the club's Super League rivals for unsettling New Zealand second row David Solomona. "In the 10 weeks we've been favourites to get relegated he's had great offers for next year from probably eight Super League clubs," said Ferres.
"Why they can't wait a couple of weeks I don't know. It's disgusting."
Ferres insisted that Solomona will stay at Trinity if they avoid relegation by beating Castleford on Saturday.
The match, at Wakefield's Belle Vue Stadium, will divide one family down the middle.
Kevin Henderson, 25, will be playing for Wakefield while older brother Andy, 27, will line up for Castleford.
"It's going to be the biggest game of my life," said Kevin.
"We have already beaten Castleford twice in Super League this season but I missed both matches through injury.
"I've only played against Andy once, when his club Wests Tigers beat Newcastle Knights in reserve grade, so it's time to exact revenge."
Brother Andy said: "Neither of us wanted it go down to the wire like this and it is going to be a massive game.
"Everyone always wants to get one over on their brother but there is more than sibling rivalry - neither of us want to go in the National League."
