Wakefield coach John Kear has been named August's Super League coach of the month after guiding his side to within one win of safety. Kear took over at the beginning of August and has led the Wildcats to three wins from five matches to give them the chance to stay up.
"I have to thank my players for producing the performances. I couldn't have asked more of them," said Kear.
Meanwhile, Salford's Luke Robinson was named Super League player of the month.
Robinson hit top form as the Reds booked a first ever appearance in the Super League play-offs.
"It's been a strange year, but we're at the business end of the season and have given ourselves the chance to perform in the play-offs," said Robinson.
"The award caps off a good month for me and I just hope myself and the club can do ourselves justice."
