Long has been in prolific form for Saints in the last month |
St Helens playmaker Sean Long has been named the Super League player of the month, while Hull boss Peter Sharp picks up the coaching award. Long was rewarded for being "in inspired form and helping to keep Saints at the top of the table".
The 29-year-old said: "It's nice to receive recognition, especially as there are some great players in form throughout the league."
Sharp, meanwhile, was recognised for his side's surprise win over Saints.
He took over at Hull in April and since then has gone five games unbeaten, which has moved the club to third in the league, including Thursday's away win at Knowsley Road.
"We've had a great run of late but, as a coach, you're always thinking ahead and it's part of my job to make sure we stay focused," said Sharp.
"The support I have received from the club since joining has been phenomenal and this award is a reflection both of the players and support staff's hard work over the past month."
