Five first-half tries saw Salford cruise to a comfortable win at Belle Vue against an out-of-sorts Wakefield. Luke Robinson scored one try and set up two others before the interval as the Reds surged into a 22-0 lead. Ian Sibbit, Andy Brocklehurst and Paul Highton also crossed before Ryan Atkins got Trinity on the scoreboard. But Karl Fitzpatrick grabbed Salford's fifth before the break and his second on the resumption, Monty Betham and Jamie Rooney replying for Wakefield. Wakefield Wildcats coach Tony Smith: "The first 40 minutes were among our worst of the season. "We improved a lot and showed more determination in the second half, but handling errors let us down at crucial times. "I'm really disappointed and some players need to have a hard look at themselves because it wasn't good enough." Salford coach Karl Harrison: "We've been really intense in practice and I felt all week that we would win
this game, which I've not felt for a while travelling to Yorkshire. "We spoke about the lack of confidence over the past few weeks and we've come
up with a few answers."
