Field, Demetriou Goals: March | Simon Finnigan scored a hat-trick for Salford as the Reds recorded their fourth win in five games by thrashing a dismal Wakefield at the Willows. Salford had victory wrapped up by the interval, leading 36-0 with tries from Paul Highton (2), Finnigan (2), John Fitzpatrick and Andrew Brocklehurst. Finnigan then landed his third try and Luke Robinson rounded off the scoring for the home side late on. Jamie Field and Jason Demetriou scored consolation tries for Wakefield. Salford coach Karl Harrison "The first half was near perfection for us. It's possibly the most fluent we've been with the ball. "We defended manfully at times near our own goal-line and scored six well-created tries. "The second-half display was frustrating, to say the least." Wakefield coach Tony Smith "It was the worst I've experienced as a coach. There's only one word that can describe it and that's 'pathetic'. "We looked lethargic in that first half and I asked the players at half-time to have a bit of pride in themselves. "They came out and did a little bit better but over all I'm really disappointed."
