Seven first-half tries ensured Leeds got back to winning ways after their slip-up against London last week.

Touchdowns by Mark Calderwood (2), Rob Burrow, Danny McGuire, Richard Mathers (2) and Andrew Dunemann gave Leeds an unassailable 42-0 lead at the break.

Salford's Stuart Littler bagged two with Tim Hartley adding a third try to restore pride, but it was too late.

Calderwood completed his hat-trick before Willie Poching and Burrow ensured Leeds stayed top of the table.

The Rhinos included Matt Diskin in their starting line-up for the first time since last year's Grand Final and took only three minutes to open the scoring through McGuire, who outsprinted several defenders to touch down.

Burrow added the extras before adding a try of his own, mopping up Marcus Bai's loose pass, before Calderwood, Mathers and Dunemann increased the home side's advantage.

Mathers and Calderwood each claimed another just before half-time, but Salford recovered well, with Littler claiming his first touchdown.

Hartley went over in the left-hand corner to round off a flowing move, before Littler added a second.

But it was Leeds who had the final say, keeping up their 100% Super League record against the Reds.

Afterwards, Rhinos coach Tony Smith was delighted with his team's display and refused to criticise them for easing off after the break.

"We had a little bit of sickness in the camp this week, bit of a scare of mumps in the camp because mumps is going around Leeds everywhere at the moment," he said.

"But we dealt with that and also with a couple of positional changes. Salford had a patch after half-time where I thought they were very, very spirited.

"They obviously got in there and talked about it at half-time being 42-0 down."

Salford coach Karl Harrison did not attend the post-match media conference.
