Widnes moved off the foot of the engage Super League table with a seven-try victory over out-of-sorts Wakefield. Stephen Myler scored 22 points for the Vikings, but there were also top performances from Shane Millard, Terry O'Connor and John Stankevitch.
Wakefield, who have won just one of their last five matches, lost David Wrench with a badly-smashed face.
Widnes' Simon Finnigan and Wakefield duo Michael Korkidas and Sid Domic were also forced into the blood bin.
Widnes were hit by the loss of Stankevitch after just 90 seconds when he was shown the yellow card following a spat with Korkidas.
But the Vikings still managed to score the game's first two tries while down to 12 men.
O'Connor crashed over from Owen Craigie's inside pass and influential skipper Millard fashioned another score for loose forward Simon Finnigan.

The Vikings went on to score five tries before the break and extended their lead to 34-16 when Myler landed his second penalty at the start of the second half.
Wakefield scored their fourth try when Jamie Rooney crashed over but their hopes ended when Gary Connolly denied Sid Domic with a brilliant try-saving tackle in the corner.
Vikings substitute Mark Smith then made his mark with two tries in 15 minutes and Myler maintained his 100% record with the boot to stretch his side's lead to 46-22.
Korkidas became the third player to be sin-binned - team-mate Darrell Griffin was shown the yellow card for a professional foul in the first half - when he was punished for holding down on 63 minutes.
But the 12-man Wildcats scored two tries in his absence to give the home fans a flicker of hope.
Jason Demetriou grabbed an interception try against his old club and Ben Jeffries scythed through the visitors defence for their sixth try.
But Craigie eased any fears the Vikings might have had with a drop goal as they comfortably held on for victory.
 | We were soft in defence and came up with too many first-up misses |
Frank Endacott is confident his Widnes side can avoid the Super League drop after their win at the Atlantic Solutions Stadium.
"I'm confident we can go on from this," said the upbeat Kiwi. "We're off the bottom and hopefully we've dragged Wakefield and London back into it."
Endacott also heaped praise on Vikings full-back Connolly following his try-saving tackle on Domic.
"It was the tackle of the year," said Endacott. "I sat down thinking it was a try. Gary came from nowhere."
Wakefield coach Shane McNally blamed his side's poor defensive performance for their 47-34 loss to Super League strugglers Widnes.
"If you score 30 points you should win the game but we leaked too many," he
said. "We were soft in defence and came up with too many first-up misses.
"You've got to have desire and we lacked that today. But there are still plenty of games left.
"We've proved this year we can play and we scored plenty of tries today."
