Paul Reilly's hat-trick helped Huddersfield secure an impressive win over Wigan at the Galpharm Stadium. He ran in two first-half touch downs and added a third after the hour, but Brad Drew's length-of-the-field sprint to score was the pick of the night.
A try from Harrison Hansen and two by Jerome Guisset saved Wigan the shame of a blank score sheet.
The Giants thoroughly deserved the win but Wigan's late scores ensured the scoreline did not tell the true story.
Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp hailed his players after the win.
He said: "We had a really tough Easter programme with two really tough games and then we had St Helens.
"But that was a fantastic game and the boys were dying on their feet."
Sharp's opposite number, Wigan boss Denis Betts admitted he was frustrated with his players after the game.
Betts said: "It is frustrating when you know there is more in them. Why wait until the game is over before starting to play?
"We were good defensively but dropped off. We never seemed to have Huddersfield on the back foot."
