Brett Dallas scored a try six minutes from time as Wigan came from behind to beat Hull at the KC Stadium. The visitors trailed 14-0 at half-time, Chris Chester and Stephen Kearney both crossing for the home side.
Wigan's Liam Colbon scored shortly after the break before a Harrison Hansen try and a Danny Tickle goal reduced the gap to one point.
The Warriors piled on the pressure, Tickle converting Dallas' try and adding a drop-goal to seal the match.
Wigan, missing seven first-team regulars through injury, were 14-0 down at half-time and both teams looked jaded.
But Hull started brightest, Paul Cooke's superb pass sending Chester over in the corner to open the scoring.
Danny Brough added the extras from the touchline before Peter Lupton put Kearney in for Hull's second try after 14 minutes.

Brough added the goal and a late penalty as Wigan were totally outplayed in the opening half.
Colbon intercepted a speculative pass by Cooke and raced the length of the field to open Wigan's account with just under 30 minutes remaining.
Tickle's conversion and a penalty reduced the deficit further before Richard Whiting's 66th-minute drop-goal gave the home side a seven-point cushion.
Hansen's try 10 minutes from time and Tickle's superb touchline goal meant that just one point separated the sides.
And Terry Newton set up Dallas to score in the corner and break Hull hearts before Tickle made sure with the boot.
Denis Betts said it was the best win he had been involved with as coach of Wigan.
"When I spoke with the players on Saturday I told them that Hull would be looking at our team and asking who some of them were," said Betts.

"We started poorly but that was just the emotion still running high after Friday's game with Saints.
"But once we started fighting, scrapping and competing for everything we showed what we're capable of. You can never write us off."
Meanwhile, Hull coach John Kear slammed his players after seeing them slip to their second home defeat of the season.
Kear said: "That was a really poor performance and I can't say how disappointed I am.
"We were trying miracle passes everywhere and we played a different game to the one that we practiced."
And Kear was also critical of referee Ashley Klein.
"He gave 10 penalties against us in the first half which is four a minute.
"If he thinks we're doing something wrong he should put someone in the bin."
