King, 26, has another year left on his contract but Hull chief executive Dave Plummer admits he could be for sale.

"We have had an approach from Leeds, which came out of the blue, and we have allowed Paul to talk to them," he told the Hull Daily Mail.

"I suppose people will say why didn't we turn the approach down but would that have been fair on the player?"
