Harrison Hansen scored a late try to give Wigan a dramatic victory as losing Challenge Cup finalists Leeds failed to reclaim the Super League top-spot.

The Rhinos were leading 22-18 going into dying stages at the JJB Stadium before Hansen touched down, allowing Danny Orr to convert and win the game.

Earlier, Dennis Moran scored twice for Wigan, while Orr also touched down.

Young full-back Lee Smith got two tries for the Rhinos to join Andrew Dunemann and Chev Walker on the scoresheet.

Wigan boss Ian Millward said: "The fans are terrific and have been all year. They have made a concerted effort to show they are standing firm behind the players.

"It's galvanised us. It's been very positive off the field, and that's helped us on the field."

The Warriors opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Orr kicked ahead for Moran to touch down by the posts.

I have to be careful with what I say, but I've seen it once on the video and it looked a try to me
Leeds boss Tony Smith
The Rhinos' response was swift, with Smith, fielding a deep kick from Orr, staggering through a half-tackle from Brett Dallas and outpacing the chasing cover to go over the line.

Wigan went on to extend a narrow two-point lead halfway through the first half when Orr darted through the line to score

But once again the Rhinos hit back with two tries in three minutes around the half-hour mark through Walker and Dunemann, both converted by Sinfield, to take the lead for the first time at 16-12.

Moran ensured Wigan held the lead at the break, however, by dummying his way through just before the hooter.

Leeds eventually hit the front on the hour-mark through Smith but Hansen popped up in the dying stages.

Leeds coach Tony Smith bemoaned a decision which he felt robbed his side of a last-gasp winner to Willie Poching.

"I have to be careful with what I say, but I've seen it once on the video and it looked a try to me," said Smith.

"I really feel for the players, though. They're having to adjust to different ways of playing every week and they are struggling with that."
