Wigan have confirmed the signing of Castleford hooker Wayne Godwin on a two-year deal. The 22-year-old, who progressed through the ranks at the Tigers, made 23 starts for the club this season.
"We have a great hooker in Terry Newton and a promising player in Mark Smith and Wayne will be a great addition," said Wigan coach Denis Betts.
"He is a great tackler, has a turn of pace and has wonderful enthusiasm and he could reach international standard."
Two more Tigers players are also set to quit The Jungle following the club's relegation from Super League.
Forwards Ryan Hudson and Andy Lynch are being linked with a move to the Bradford Bulls, who take on Leeds Rhinos in Saturday's Grand Final.
