Anderson helped the Bulls to Grand Final glory in 2003 |
Bradford's 20-stone Great Britain prop Paul Anderson has signed a one-year deal to join St Helens next season. "Paul will give us the extra size and directness in the front row which we need," said Saints coach Ian Millward.
"He will take some of the workload off our existing front-rowers and they should benefit in their effectiveness throughout the season."
Anderson, 32, is the Saints' second major signing for 2005, following the acquisition of Australian Jamie Lyon.
The former Leeds and Halifax front-rower has been a cornerstone of Bradford's powerful pack over the last eight seasons, in which time he has been largely used as an impact player off the bench.
Of his 195 appearances, 112 of them have been as a substitute.
Anderson has missed the Bulls' last six matches after undergoing minor knee surgery.
