Castleford remain rooted to the foot of the Super League table after slipping to their seventh straight defeat. The home side led 10-6 late in the first half thanks to tries from Sean Ryan and Dean Ripley.
But Wakefield, who opened the scoring through skipper Gareth Ellis, hit back to heap even more pressure on under-fire Tigers coach Graham Steadman.
Ellis, Semi Tadulala (2), Ben Jeffries (2), Jason Demetriou and Michael Korkidas added tries for the Wildcats.
Afterwards, Steadman vowed to fight on despite watching as his side were booed off at the Jungle.
 | To get beat in that manner was just not good enough |
He said: "In 13 years of being at this club I am probably at my lowest ebb.
"I am not going anywhere. It is up to the board to make the call. It's certainly very tough at the moment. I can't hide from that fact.
"We can look to injuries and a few positional changes but to get beat in that manner was just not good enough."
Wakefield coach Shane McNally was adamant the Tigers' cause was not helped by the pressure being mounted on his opposite number.
 | People should back off.... there's no question about Graham's ability |
He said: "They [Tigers] were pretty good in the first half. It was 10-10 at half-time. They probably had the best of the game.
"They've got some good players here and are working hard but the pressure doesn't help.
"People should back off. There's no question about Graham's ability. He's been successful before."
