Castleford are not giving up hope of retaining their Super League status despite Sunday's defeat to Salford. The Tigers must win their last two matches to have a chance of avoiding the drop - and one of those games is against fellow strugglers Widnes.
"Mathematically it's not as bleak as some people are suggesting, we've still got a chance," Tigers managing Director Robert Elstone told BBC Radio Leeds.
"If we go to Widnes and win, then the points difference is very tight."
He added: "Widnes have a very tough final game and Wakefield come to the Jungle with perhaps not a lot to play for after securing their place in the top six."
