Fa'asavalu set for debut
Maurie Fa'asavalu
Fa'asavalu is set to be unleashed
Ex-Samoan rugby union world cup star Maurie Fa'asavalu is set for his St Helens debut in Friday's Super League game at Castleford.

Fa'asavalu has previously been a non-appearing substitute for his new club.

Coach Ian Millward said he would bring Fa'asavalu into the team but stopped short of revealing whether the Samoan would start or come off the bench.

"I'm not putting him in just because we're playing Castleford. I think he deserves his spot," Millward added.

Millward revealed the 17-stone 6ft 3in forward has "been doing enough in the Alliance to get the opportunity".

"He might be the player who could help us win a semi-final in a couple of weeks, you never know."
