Bai joins Leeds
Marcus Bai
Bai was Melbourne's all-time leading try-scorer
Super League leaders Leeds have signed Papua New Guinea winger Marcus Bai from Melbourne Storm.

The 30-year-old, who has played in the last two World Cups, will begin his two-year contract at the start of next season.

He has made more than 150 appearances in the National Rugby League (NRL) and is the all-time leading try-scorer for Melbourne, who he has played for since the club was founded in 1998.

It will be Bai's second spell in England following an eight-match stint with Hull in 1996.

"Marcus is a massive player in every sense of the word and will bring a great deal to our squad for 2004," said Rhinos coach Darryl Powell.

"The signing of a top-class winger will mean that we have competition for every position in the team next season which will maintain our current policy of a competitive, challenging squad."

Bai was part of the Melbourne team which won the 1999 Grand Final at only their second attempt and he previously played with Gold Coast Chargers in Australia in 1997.
