Kris Radlinski has been taking pain-killing injections |
Wigan full-back Kris Radlinski has suffered a recurrence of a wrist problem and could be sidelined for up to three months. Radlinski, a Great Britain international, was forced to miss the final few weeks of last season as well as the Test series against New Zealand following a bone graft operation.
But now the 27-year-old star requires more surgery after damaging the same wrist at the start of the current campaign.
"This is another blow to us," said Wigan coach Stuart Raper, whose side has been plagued by injuries this season.
"We have known for a while that Kris needed an operation and has been playing with pain-killing injections for most of the season.
"Kris put his hand up and said he would continue to play during the awful run of injuries that we have had, but now players are on their way back he will have the surgery."
Shaun Briscoe, 20, will continue to deputise in Radlinski's absence.
