Reds celebrate rare win
Bobbie Goulding landed five goals and a drop goal

Salford 31-18 Warrington

Salford came from behind three times to end a run of nine successive Super League defeats.

But it took tries from Danny Arnold and Darren Treacy in the last quarter to give them their first league win since 5 August.

A lot of the headlines will be about how poor Warrington were but the character we showed was superb

The win lifted the Reds off the bottom of the table and eased the pressure on coach Steve McCormack.

Sid Domic's try handed the Wolves an early lead but the home side hit back through Darren Shaw.

Mark Hilton restored the visitors' advantage on 22 minutes, with Lee Briers adding his second conversion, but Salford again responded to send Damian Gibson over.

Bobbie Goulding added the extras to tie the scores at 12-12 going into the break.

I was pleased for the players because they have taken a lot of criticism in the opening weeks of the season

Warrington managed to muscle themselves back in front after the restart when Kevin Crouthers touched down.

Yet the Wolves could not kill off the game and allowed Salford back into the game through Nick Pinkney.

Arnold then put the Reds ahead for the first time, with Goulding converting and adding a drop goal, before Treacy sealed the points in the dying moments.
