Tonga brawlers avoid suspensions
England v Tonga
The scenes got ugly in Widnes towards the end of the match
Tonga captain Solomon Haumono and team-mate Joe Falomaki escaped bans following their dismissal in Sunday's Federation Shield final.

The pair were sent off towards the end of Tonga's 32-14 defeat by England at Widnes after being involved in a brawl.

In a hastily-arranged disciplinary hearing, Haumono was found guilty of "running in" and fined 350.

Falomaki was found guilty of striking but the three-man panel decided his red card was sufficient punishment.

Haumono will be free to start the 2007 Super League season with his club Harlequins.

606 DEBATE: What do you think of this decision?

A game that simmered close to boiling point for long periods eventually erupted into a free-for-all.

Falomaki had earlier been sin-binned, along with team-mates Lopeni Paea and Makasini Richter and England's Brett Ferres as referee Richard Silverwood brandished four yellow and two red cards in all.
