Stuart succeeds Raper at Sharks
Ricky Stuart at a media conference to announce his appointment as Sharks coach
Stuart was sacked by the Roosters
Australia coach Ricky Stuart has been appointed as head coach of Cronulla Sharks on a two-year contract.

Stuart, preparing the Kangaroos for the Tri-Nations series, was sacked by the Sydney Roosters last month after they failed to reach the play-offs.

"The overwhelming factor that attracted me to apply for the Sharks job was the club's massive potential to be a major force in the NRL," said Stuart.

He succeeds former Castleford and Wigan coach Stuart Raper.

Raper was dismissed with a year left on his contract after the Sharks failed to make the National Rugby League play-offs this season.

Cronulla also announced the appointment of former London Broncos captain Jim Dymock to their backroom staff.
