Henry Paul says he has yet to make up his mind about playing international rugby again and has not even thought about which country he would represent. Paul qualifies for both New Zealand and Great Britain, and Lions coach Brian Noble said he would consider the Harlequins player if he was in form.
But Paul, 32, told BBC Sport: "I just want to get my body right and show the boys that I can still do it.
"Then I will think about international rugby again and who to play for."
Paul made 24 appearances for New Zealand before his high-profile switch to rugby union in July 2001.
But he qualifies for the Lions because he has an English grandparent and also because he played for the England rugby union side.
Paul, who was born in Tokoroa, was capped six times by England over a four-year period.
He made a shock return to league last month when he signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Super League side Harlequins.
