Australia avenged their shock Tri-Nations final defeat by crushing New Zealand 50-12 to give Andrew Johns a perfect farewell to Test rugby. Johns produced an immaculate kicking display with eight out of eight at goal, helping his side to a 14-6 lead.
Matt Cooper and Mark Gasnier scored tries before half-time but Australia added six more after the interval.
Timana Tahu and Darren Lockyer both grabbed braces with Nathan Hindmarsh and Danny Buderus also crossing.
David Kidwell scored the first try of the game for New Zealand and Sonny Bill Williams pounced on a Tahu error for another in the second half, but the Kiwis were well beaten.
To add injury to insult, Harlequins scrum-half Thomas Leuluai limped off with a hamstring injury early in the second half.
After Johns had opened the scoring with an early penalty, David Fa'alogo was denied a try for New Zealand by the video referee, but the Kiwis promptly scored anyway.
Leuluai sent captain Kidwell flying over the line with a tremendous delayed pass, but with Brent Webb missing the goal and an earlier penalty, they only led 4-2.
Johns trapped Webb in the in-goal area with a clever kick to help Australia regain the lead, Karmichael Hunt creating space for centre Cooper to score.

Johns landed the first of four touchline goals, and added the extras again when Australian Rugby Union target Gasnier barged his way over for their scond try. The visitors introduced Benji Marshall from the bench in a bid to stabilise their kicking game, Webb and Johns trading penalties to close out the half.
Leuluai limped off on the resumption moments before Tahu grabbed the first of his brace from a Johns pass.
Tahu gifted New Zealand a try when he tried an ambitious pass from a high kick to his own in-goal area, Williams pouncing on the loose ball.
But after Hunt was stretchered off after falling into a high tackle from Frank Pritchard, Australia reasserted themselves.
Hindmarsh crashed over for the first of two quick-fire tries, both in the left corner, Tahu promptly grabbing his second from a Cooper off-load.
The impressive wing was denied a hat-trick score before Lockyer raced onto Gasnier's pass with eight minutes left.
There was still time for a solo effort from Buderus and a second for Lockyer, Ben Kennedy - also playing his last Test - kicking the penultimate goal before Johns rounded off proceedings.
